Welcome Stoke Lane Allotments
Welcome to your gardening haven here at Stoke Lane Allotments!
Whether you're planting your first seed or have a seasoned green thumb, we're here to help you grow your perfect allotment.
Where we are
Our allotment site is on Stoke Lane in Gedling, an area of Nottingham situated to the north-east of the city. The post code (for satellite navigation purposes only) is NG4 2QS. The site is only open to our key-holding members unless you have an appointment or are visiting on our Open Day (Events).
The main entrance is on Stoke Lane and there is also a pedestrian entrance off Emerys Road. There is parking for cars at both ends. If you are trying to locate a particular plot, number one is on the right hand side as you enter from Stoke Lane and the last plot, 209, is on the left. The Shop is in the middle of the site, next to plot 80 (approaching along the right hand lane) or 124 (left hand lane). At the rear of the shop is the earth-composting loo, financed to the relief of members (!) by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Our plot-holders are very busy people but we all help to keep our allotment site looking the best it can, and as welcoming to visitors and new holders alike!
There are three areas of ornamental planting on the site maintained by volunteers. As you enter from Stoke Lane, there are raised beds of hardy perennials cheering up the first car park. Along the lawned area at the back of the Shop there is a second border, mainly in blues and pinks where the emphasis is on scented plants perfect for pollinators. Lastly, plots 138 and 139 are set aside as a community garden, a riot of colour in midsummer when the roses are all flowering.
We would love to welcome you here at Stoke Lane Allotments…please have a look around and reach out to us if you are interested in a plot!
